Rainy day in Cyprus

So it seems that the real estate brochures around here claim that Cyprus gets less than two weeks of rain a year – every other day is all sun.  For the most part that’s been true of our stay – it seems though, that we may have caught a few days of the rainy season.   Last night it was a little chillier than usual – so much so that we actually pulled the chairs over to the fire pit not to watch the flames but to feel the heat.  It was nice though – a bottle (or two of some nice wine) the fire NOT being in Kuwait – it was pretty awesome.  Eventually we all packed it in for the night.  Then around – oh I don’t know let’s say 3AM – a wall of water slammed against the house loud enough to wake us both up – no small feat in my case.  The intensity was short lived but the rain stayed with us most of the day.  It was overcast all day and rained and even sleeted off and on during the say so we just hung out inside.  Sydney got schooled in Jenga, we played Creationary (AWESOME Lego game like pictionary only instead of drawing you have to make your clue out of Lego), had some hot chocolate, and generally just stayed cozied up inside.  Even just sitting around watching the rain was pretty awesome.
