New additions to Main Street in our LEGO city – Godwin’s Hollow

For Easter I worked up a couple new buildings for our LEGO city – Godwin’s Hollow.  First the Main Street Cinema and then the Anita G Dance Studios.  A movie theater and dance studio were two buildings that Sydney said we needed in town and so here they are.  The movie theater obviously owes a great deal of it’s aesthetic to the LEGO Town Plan (10184) set as the marquee signs and posters are from that set directly.  The rest of the building is a true MOC but it draw inspiration from the original set.  The dance studio is a Godwin’s Hollow original.  The name is play on the Abby Lee (Miller) studios from yet another horrible Bravo show – ‘Dance Moms”.  Of course Anita & Sydney are big fans so now we have the Anita G Dance Studios.

For more of the story behind the buildings you can check out their pages on MOCPages.  Just follow the links to get to the Main Street Cinema and the Anita G Dance Studios.  You can also check out Godwin’s Hollow’s Flickr feed here.

The front facade of the Main Street Cinema. We were shooting for more of a classic stand alone movie theater, rather than the giant metroplex 40 screen theaters of today.
Must be something cool showing tonight…
$0.50 to get in? Godwin’s Hollow must rock!
Customer waling in, ticket booth in the background…
Concession stand – drinks, popcorn, and candy…
A large bag of popcorn and a giant Coke!
Looks like someone had to leave the movie early – and he doesn’t seem happy about it…
Moviegoers watching the flick. Its kinda hard to see but that’s the scene from Star Wars (Episode IV, A New Hope) where Darth Vader is choking an imperial officer using the force for mocking him – of course recreated in LEGO!
The projectionist making sure everything is working the way it should…
A ballerina to be entering the dance studios…
Nothing says awesomeness like a giant sign with your name on it…
Shot of the side of the building…
Anita upstairs working with one of her solo performers…
Dance moms waiting in the lobby…
Downstairs rehearsing the trio…
The studios on the street next to Chick-Fil-A and the First National Bank & Trust. This is the southeast end of Main Street in Godwin’s Hollow
The Main Street Cinema right out there on Main Street East. At the far left is Mercy General Hospital, next to the cinema is the local pet shop, and on the far right is the Bubble Gum Beauty Salon.
