Greeting His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales

Prince Charles, Prince of Wales stopped by jolly old Kuwait today. He’s been on a short tour throughout the region and made a quick stop in our corner of the world. As a former British colony there was a bit of a todo when he came to town and many of his subjects were asked to come out and greet him. Mostly soldiers, diplomats, etc but also scouts and other similar youth groups including The Girl Guides. Sydney was specifically honored to be asked by her troop to attend the greeting ceremony due to her status as a rebellious American. Apparently she has impressed the organization’s local leadership and despite of her passport was able to attend. She was very excited – as were the other girls from her troop that got to go. So much so that when she got home she tried to post a Union Jack outside our gate. After a brief explanation about the only flag that can be flown solo at our house it came down and was given a place of honor on the bookshelf next to Aunt Sissy’s Japanese flag signed by the 1996 Silver Medaling Japanese Olympic Softball team. Not bad company if you ask me. Anyways, pix are below.
