Eight is enough…

Well today is the big day. The day Sydney decided to come and play with the rest of us. Believe it or not the girl is already eight years old. She’s also obviously adopted her mother’s ‘month of me’ philosophy with the parties, and the cupcakes for class last week, barely stopping to say Happy Birthday to her Aunt Sissy (who’s B’day was yesterday), and now an entire day devoted to her. She’s had the day planned out for a while now. We all got to sleep in – 8AM for me and later for Anita! Then we had chocolate chip Belgian waffles for breakfast. While the waffles were cooking Syd broke down and had to open up a few of her mountain of presents. After breakfast we all got dressed and it was out to the Avenues for Magic Planet (local indoor theme parky/arcade). Syd rode the rides, we went 1 and 1 at air hockey, and then played some of the games. After Magic Planet it was over to Macaroni Grill for lunch. That’s Sydney’s new favorite place so off we went. She went with the usual - fettuccine Alfredo. They even came out with cake and the singing and the clapping – yeah! After rolling out of the grill we tried to walk a bit of it off and took a stroll through the Pottery Barn Kids store – Sydney has circled most of what’s in their catalog for Christmas (mainly because that’s the only catalog she has at the moment). Finally, we wrapped things up at the mall and hit the road back home. I thought that would be about it but upon arriving home we had to return to the mountain of presents! We pulled out the wrapping paper dumpster and the girl went to town! Six hours later we pulled ourselves out from under the the ribbon, and tissue, and the rest of it and started to wonder where all of this was going to go. Sydney has let us take a bit of a break to recover from the unwrapping and is having a bite of pizza for dinner. After dinner it’s cake followed by a movie of Sydney’s choice and some popcorn-a-la-daddy. Not a bad day all in all if you ask me. Check out the fun below!
