Easter at the O’Kane’s

Happy Easter!  In the words of St. Augustine “And he departed from our sight that we might return to our heart, and there find Him. For He departed, and behold, He is here.”

This year our friends Paula & Colin graciously allowed us to invite ourselves (and some friends) over to their place for Easter.  Since we moved last year and lost our really awesome courtyard space there really wasn’t much room to do all of the fun Easter stuff (egg hunts, egg races, etc) over at our place and the O’Kane’s have a giant pool and great courtyardy space so we thought – they should everyone over.  To be fair the invite did come from Paula but I’m fairly certain Anita and Jennifer planted it in her mind for her.

Anyways, we had a great time – huge buffet with WAY too much to eat, lots of sweet goodies, lots of water that somehow changed into something else – in honor of the day of course, and as always lots of good friends.  Brown Owl (Sydney’s Brownie leader Jane – who I must now refer to as “Mama” as she has taken to calling me “Bubba”) came, the Matthews were there, us, the O’Kanes, the Tapps – and even a few others who seemed to stop by for cupcakes and “water” more than anything else.  It was a really fun bunch tho.

We had a great time and can’t wait to do it again – there’s been talk of maybe an end-of-school-BBQ.  If I can rustle up some ribs I may even break out the last of my McClard’s sauce to share with everyone.  Pictures from the whole day (including the Easter Bunny’s visit) are below.

We made a pretty good dent in that spread…
Paula’s beautiful home – I’m fairly certain she doesn’t know I was running around taking shots but I’ve always loved their place…
Shock and awe…

Easter goodies for Sydney – mostly from the grandparents… some LEGO in there from Mom & Dad and some dolls from the Easter Bunny…
