Fa, la, la, la, la!
It is that time of year again folks – the Christmas lights in Kuwait are up again! Anita & I put away all of the fall/Thanksgiving decorations last night and started getting Christmas out. Since they were closest to the door we started with the Christmas lights. Last summer I found an AWESOME deal on some lights on Amazon and stocked up. They’re 20ft long and 9ft tall with 600 lights per set. They have all those epilepsy inducing modes that most light sets come with now and can be connected together end to end. It took a few hours but we were able to get them all up last night.
Our cheeks are nice and rosy…
So after we got the lights up I had to, of course, get the drone up for a few pics. The P4 is an amazing piece of aerial photographic technology and is almost crash proof. That is assuming that all of the object avoidance tech is up and running – which it is NOT at night. If it is too dark the sensors can’t see so you’re flying by stick. I don’t do that a lot, certainly not at night, and even less so in the wind. There weren’t typhoon-like gusts or anything but without the sensors it was hairy. Even so, with years of Academy training under my belt I was able to get a couple of decent shots. The pics are a bit farther down the page but I’ve also thrown together a little video just below.
Christmas Lights in Kuwait?
If you’re on the verge of screaming ‘show us the pics already’ then you’re in luck. Plenty of pics below. Keep checking in regularly over this week as I’ll be keeping everyone up to date on the progress of the Christmas decorations. Merry Christmas Y’all!
