One Seems To Hear Words Of Good Cheer
I hope you’ve been caroling faithful readers. We have – pretty much 24/7 since the day after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas carols and both Anita and Sydney indulge me this time of year. Since the good Dr. Pelletier introduced me to Spotify I’ve really been digging it. Once Christmas rolled around and seemingly every Christmas carol/song ever recorded has been made available to my playlist – all I can say is Ho Ho Ho! One of my favorite recent Christmas memories is just a quick note back a few years ago from my good friend Ryan Bakazan. Years ago we used to make CDs at Christmas time as a sort of Christmas card. At first, they were very homemade but got a bit more sophisticated as the years went along. By the time the Bakazan’s popped up over in Kuwait we were up to volume 7 or 8. Ryan is in the USAF and as such didn’t get to stay in Kuwait long at all. The Christmas after they left I was rethinking the whole CD thing as they were starting to die as a musical medium. That year I decided to try sending out the album digitally. While I thought that was marginally successful I did get one piece of feedback from Ryan.
I still chuckle every time I think of it or hear that particular song. So without further ado, I give you Julian Casablancas covering a Jimmy Fallon song. Happy birthday Jesus. Merry Christmas Y’all!
